About the event
Have you wanted to fly an airplane? Are you between ages 8 and 17? Then we are looking for you!
Come out to Medina Airport Saturday, June 1, learn how an airplane flies, and get a free 20-minute ride in an airplane. Chapter 846 members are volunteering their time and aircraft to offer rides in factory-built and homebuilt aircraft.
A parent must be present and sign an authorization form. Kids can be preregistered using this website.
The Young Eagles program began in 1992 and more than 2.3 million kids around the world have had the opportunity to experience aviation first hand. Radio-controlled aircraft will be on display. Younger kids will be given balsa wood airplanes and comic books of Aviore.
Each kid will take part in a short ground school to learn how an aircraft is controlled. Kids will then be assigned to a pilot and airplane for their flight where most kids will be allowed to take control of the airplane and fly!
